The Idea

An heirloom world, built to last

Relics of the Elderlands takes the feel of a classic high-fantasy saga — a corrupting ring, a reforged royal blade, an elf-silver too fine for common smiths — and folds it into survival Minecraft. Every name and every texture here is original; the spirit is a love letter to the genre, not a copy of it.

It is a single import. One .mcaddon file carries both the behavior and resource packs; double-click, enable on a world, and the relics are in your crafting table.

The Saga

Nine chapters, one long shadow

Seek out Hesper Wren, a wandering ranger, and she'll set you on a road that starts small and ends at the edge of legend. Goblins are raiding the grain stores — but goblins don't organize themselves. Someone armed them. Follow that thread through a marauder war-camp, into a sealed barrow, down into a crypt where the dead will not rest, north to the plague-maddened wargs, and to a grove the last Treewarden still guards.

There you meet Ivy Thorne, the first elf in a generation to walk openly beside an outsider, and the trail leads to the Pale King in his wraith-halls. Cut him down and his last words are not a curse but a warning: "He wakes now. I only delayed him." For the Pale King was never the source — only the doorman. Morthaug the Dread, older than the barrows dug to hold him, is awake and marching south toward the very village where it all began.

End him. Take the two crowns, wraith-pale and dread-black, and forge them with starsilver into something the Elderlands themselves have a name for. Not a ranger. Not a wanderer. The Champion of the Elderlands.

The RPG Layer

Become a hero of the Elderlands

Under the swords and monsters runs a full role-playing layer, in the spirit of the great online sagas — a class, a level, quests to take, deeds to earn. Every bit of your progress is saved in your own world.

CLASS

Choose a Path

Craft a Book of Paths and pick a calling — Bulwark, Stalker, Skald, or Sage. Each has a signature skill from a skill-rune and a greater art when you sneak, fueled by a regenerating Power resource.

PROGRESSION

Levels & XP

Every kill grants experience; every level makes you tougher. A clean heads-up display tracks your level, Power, XP, and active chapter at a glance.

QUESTLINE

The Nine Chapters

Hesper Wren gives the story one chapter at a time, in order — each unlocking the next. Read your progress and the world's lore in the Tome of the Elderlands.

DEEDS & TITLES

Earn Your Name

Great feats become titles worn on your very name — Goblin-slayer, Wolfsbane, Dread-ender — earned by the deeds you accomplish.

REPUTATION

Standing with the Elves

Complete the Ranger's contracts and your reputation with the Elves rises, opening the way to greater aid.

PERSISTENT

Your Story, Saved

Class, level, deeds, and quests all persist in your world save — and it works in multiplayer, each hero on their own path.

The Arsenal

Relics & gear

Band of Vanishing, Dawnbringer, Starsilver Ingot, Wayfarer's Bread, Scrying Orb
The founding relics — Band of Vanishing, Dawnbringer, Starsilver Ingot, Wayfarer's Bread, Scrying Orb
The Bestiary

Eight creatures — and one on your side

Every creature walks, idles, and swings when it strikes, and each carries its own voice — a goblin's snarl, a treewarden's low groan, a wither-deep boss roar.

HOSTILE

Goblin

Small, quick raiders that swarm at night. Drop goblin fangs.

HOSTILE · PACK

Warg

Fast four-legged hounds that run down prey in packs after dark. Drop warg pelts.

HOSTILE

Marauder

Bigger, armored brutes with war-paint and tusks. Thirty health, a real threat in numbers.

UNDEAD

Barrow-Wight

Pale grave-wraiths with cold, glowing eyes. Faster than they look.

NEUTRAL · GUARDIAN

Treewarden

A towering bark-skinned sentinel. Leaves you be — until you strike it. Then eighty health of slow, heavy wrath.

BOSS · MELEE

Morthaug the Dread

A crowned obsidian tyrant with 220 health, a boss health-bar, and a guaranteed Dread Crown for whoever fells him. Summon him when you dare.

BOSS · RANGED

The Pale King

A silver-crowned wraith-sorcerer who keeps his distance and hurls bolts of pale fire. 180 health; drops the Pale Crown.

ALLY

Elf Ranger

Summon a green-clad archer to your side. She hunts every hostile in sight — goblins, wargs, wights, marauders — and never turns on you.

The Realm

Stone, silver & elderwood

Starsilver Ore generates naturally in the deep stone, waiting for an iron pickaxe. Smelt and forge it into gear, or stack it into a gleaming Block of Starsilver. Elderwood — log and plank — rounds out a builder's palette in pale, ancient grain.

Deeper Still

Ruins, wards & wraith-fire

WORLDGEN

Ruins & Crypts

Crumbling barrows surface across the land, and sealed stone crypts hide below — each guarding a loot chest for those who find it.

SET BONUS

The Starsilver Ward

Wear the full Starsilver suit and the metal wards you: steady Resistance and slow Regeneration for as long as it's worn.

MAGIC

Wraith-fire

The Pale King flings no mere arrows — he conjures bolts of pale wraith-fire that streak across the dark and strike hard.

ENCHANTING

Bind the Old Power

Dawnbringer and the whole Starsilver suit take enchantments now — sharpen the blade, ward the armor at the table.

CAPSTONE

Crown of the Elderlands

Fell both bosses, claim both crowns, and forge them with starsilver into a single trophy — the mark of one who conquered the Elderlands.

RELICS

Trophies of the Fallen

Best a boss and claim its crown. Run down a warg and take its pelt. Proof, and materials, for the next hunt.

Riddles of the Sage

Counsel is earned, not given

How does one stand against the two dread lords? The Sage knows — but she keeps each answer behind a riddle. Speak true, and her counsel is yours. (Answer with a single word.)

"Steel he shrugs, and flame he drinks; no push nor pyre makes him blink. Yet one soft word can bend his wrath and rob the giant of his path — speak the curse that steals a strong man's might."

✓ The Sage nods

Morthaug the Dread — the Balrog's spite

  • No fire. He drinks flame; Fire Aspect, lava and fire-traps do nothing, and heavy knockback will not peel him.
  • Enchant Dawnbringer with Sharpness and wear the full Starsilver set (Resistance + Regeneration).
  • Lead with the Sage's Word (sneak): Weakness guts his heavy melee, Slowness lets you kite, Wither wears him down.
  • He spawns before you when the chapter is accepted — buff and eat first. Athelas heals; the Band of Vanishing resets his aggro; burn hard at the "falters!" warning.

"The pale one flees on graveyard air and stings from far with cold despair. Pin his heels, then bless your blade with the bane that lays the dead unmade — name the edge the deathless dread."

✓ The Sage nods

The Pale King — the ranged wraith

  • He kites and stings from range. Corner him in an enclosed room so he cannot back away.
  • He is undead and not fire-immune — Smite (great) and Flame on Dawnbringer both bite deep.
  • Slowness (Sage) stops his flight; the Band of Vanishing breaks his sight so you can close the gap.
  • A Bulwark body-blocks him to a wall; a Stalker wins the bow-duel; loose Elf Rangers to focus-fire.
Riddles of the Path

Which calling answers the call?

Four paths, four arts. Name each from its verse to learn how it fights — and remember, every skill has a greater art when you sneak.

"I take the blow so you need not; behind my wall the foe grows short. Resistance thick and a second skin — name the shield the party stands within."

✓ Bulwark

The Wall

  • Greater art (sneak): Resistance IV + Absorption IV + Regeneration. Hold the front and eat the boss's blows.
  • Wear the full Starsilver set so its Resistance + Regen stacks with your art. Face Morthaug away from the group; body-block the Pale King to a wall.

"Swift of foot and keen of eye, I strike, then slip before you die. Strength and speed and sight through night — name the stalker of the fight."

✓ Stalker

The Stalker

  • Greater art: Strength III + Speed II + Night-vision. Burst Morthaug with Dawnbringer; win the bow-duel with the Elven Bow against the Pale King.
  • Speed is your kite — never stand still in the boss's reach.

"No blade I favor, yet none I fail; my song mends flesh and steels the pale. Mending and ward for all who stand — name the voice that heals the band."

✓ Skald

The Voice

  • Greater art: AoE Regeneration III + Strength + Resistance to every ally near you. Stay close to the party and win the damage race.
  • The one calling that turns two friends into a fellowship that can out-heal a boss.

"One whispered word unstrings the strong, one curse to make the swift go long. Weakness, slowness, wither's breath — name the sage who deals in death."

✓ Sage

The Sage — the boss-breaker

  • Greater art: Weakness III + Slowness III + Wither I on every monster and undead in reach. This is the single strongest anti-boss button in the pack.
  • Weakness neuters Morthaug's melee; Slowness pins the fleeing Pale King; Wither finishes either — and the kill still counts for the quest.

"Two dead kings gave up their heads; starsilver bound what malice bred. Wear the whole and be reborn — name the prize the fallen mourn."

✓ The Champion's Secret

Crown of the Elderlands

  • Forge both boss crowns (Pale + Dread) with 4 Starsilver Ingots. It is no mere trophy — a +4 enchantable helm.
  • Completing the whole saga makes you the Champion: the title rides your very name, and you keep a permanent extra heart for good.
  • The toughest build in the game: the Crown + the full Starsilver set, worn together.
Riddles of the Relics

What the artifacts truly do

The Codex tells you what each relic is. Its cleverest use, the Sage keeps behind a verse.

"Slip me on and no eye finds you; the hunter's arrow falls behind you. When the fight has turned to dread, name the band that clears his head."

✓ Band of Vanishing

The escape & the reset

  • 30 seconds unseen: a boss that must see you (the Pale King) loses his target — rush him, or slip a bad spot.
  • Your panic button in either boss fight — vanish, heal with Athelas, re-engage.

"A leaf the kings once pressed to wounds, green against the barrow's fumes. Carry a stack where danger's rife — name the herb that buys you life."

✓ Athelas

The medic's leaf

  • Eat it to mend fast. Bring a full stack into every boss chapter — the fights are races, and Athelas keeps you in them.
  • Pairs with a Skald's song for a fellowship that simply out-heals the damage.

"Mined from the deep where no sun goes, finer than iron the smith-fire knows. Wear the whole and stand your ground — name the metal the elves renowned."

✓ Starsilver

The tank baseline

  • Mine the ore (its only source now), forge the full four-piece set. Worn together it grants standing Resistance + Regeneration — the survival floor for both bosses.
  • Stack it with a Bulwark's art or the Crown for the toughest build in the pack.

"Gaze in glass and glimpse the far: a crowned dead thing, a rising war. Omen-keeper, dark and round — name the sphere where truth is found."

✓ Scrying Orb

The omen

  • Right-click for a vision — flavor, and the very relic the barrow chapter sends you to recover.
  • Craft one early (obsidian + amethyst) so that quest is never a wall.
Secrets of the Elderlands

Two last things the Ranger won't say aloud

"Under the moor where the dead were laid, a sealed stone room the builders made. Break in and take what the dark has kept — name the vault where the barrow-kings slept."

✓ The Barrow Crypt

Buried treasure

  • Sealed stone crypts generate underground, each hiding a loot chest (starsilver, emeralds, bones, fangs, bread) — filled like a vanilla dungeon chest. Crumbling barrows surface above ground too.
  • Explore to find them; a good early source of starsilver before you find the ore.

"Alone you may fall, but four may stand: a wall, a song, a bow, a hand that curses the strong and slows the fleet. Name the bond that will not meet defeat."

✓ The Fellowship

The master combo

  • Bulwark tanks, Sage debuffs (Weakness + Slowness + Wither), Stalker burns it down, Skald keeps everyone standing. Even solo, cycle those roles across relics.
  • Loose Elf Rangers as AI focus-fire, and save your greater art for the 25% "falters!" execute window.
How It Was Forged

Proven on a real engine, not just written

Most add-ons are hand-written and hoped-for. This one was machine-verified. Every build was loaded into a real, headless Bedrock Dedicated Server and its content log read back — so the game engine itself, not a human guess, decided whether the pack was correct.

21
JSON + Molang systems
45+
bugs caught & fixed
0
content-log errors
1.26
Bedrock server tested

The engine is an unforgiving reviewer, and it caught things no eyeballing would: recipes that silently needed unlock data, a food item on the wrong format version, a boss reward that only dropped half the time, a scrying recipe that collided with vanilla ender-chests, and a set of boots whose texture was quietly invisible when worn. Each was surfaced by the server, fixed at the source, and re-verified clean.

Some flaws even the engine can't see — it never renders, so it can't hear. Independent review passes caught those too: an attack animation that was never wired to fire, and a creature whose idle sound pointed at a vanilla event that doesn't exist — both silent failures with no error anywhere, both fixed.

build → load on real server → read content log → fix → repeat, until zero errors. Multiple passes of independent AI review then hardened the mobs, bosses, armor, animations, and sound before ship.

Get It Running

Install on Bedrock

  1. Download Relics.mcaddon.
  2. Double-click it — Minecraft opens and imports both packs.
  3. In a world's settings, enable the Relics of the Elderlands behavior pack (the resource pack comes with it).
  4. Enter the world. A Wandering Ranger appears near your first spawn — craft a Book of Paths, choose a class, then speak to her to begin the saga.

Bedrock 1.21+. Works in single-player and on most servers; some Marketplace-only realms block custom packs.
